The Brask Collection meets Willumsen

The colours and stories will explode when J.F. Willumsen’s paintings, sculptures, prints and ceramics are joined by works from the Danish art collector Jens-Peter Brask’s impressive collection of Danish and American contemporary art in the exhibition The Brask Collection meets Willumsen. The public can experience works by among others Christian Lemmerz, Olafur Eliasson, Alexander Tovborg, John Kørner and Jesper Dalgaard as well as the New York-based artists Eddie Martinez, Ella Kruglyanskaya and Mira Dancy.

Major works from the collection and other artists’ portraits of Willumsen

All the Willumsens works that have been lent out to ARoS – Aarhus Museum of Art from November 2016 until March 2017 are now back at the J.F. Willumsen Museum. Visitors can once more see his well.known paintings such as The Evening Soup, The Green Girl, the many dancing women and the colorful Venice paintings. In addition the museum is exhibiting a number of portraits of Willumsen done by other artists – including Hammershøi and Paul Gauguin.
Works from the Collection will be shown in the annexe.
